| Deadheading your roses by cutting the stem down to a five leaf cluster of leaves results in the formation of another flowering stem. If you don't cut down that far, the stem will grow and produce leaves until it produces another set of five leaves and then a flower. It takes a little longer, but it will eventually produce the five leaf cluster. By cutting down to an already formed five leaf cluster, your rose bush will produce a new flower much faster.
