The Q&A Archives: Splitting up Kaffir Lily

Question: We bought 5 Kaffir Lily plants and there are two connected in each pot. We are getting ready to plant them and we were wondering if we can split them up.

Answer: Kaffir lilies can be divided, but they don't take well to having their roots disturbed while they're actively growing and flowering. They're best divided in early spring before they put out a lot of growth. Be sure to leave 3-5 eyes per tuber to ensure healthy top growth.
