We recently planted daylillies of different colors. On the plant tag it stated certain colors of the day lillies perferred shade, while some of them perferred sun. Now the flowers are falling off of all the plants, the ones in the mostly shaded areas as well as the full sun areas. Did we overwater? Underwater? What can we do to help the flowers re-bloom? Will they even re-bloom?

As indicated by their name, day-lilies, the individual flowers last only one day. So what you are seeing is probably normal. The remaining buds will open in succession. As the blooms fade you should deadhead to prevent seed formation. Remove the entire faded flower by gently snapping it at the base. When all of the buds on a scape have opened, remove the scape (tall wiry stem) by cutting it at the base. Enjoy your daylilies!
