| The top needles of my recently purchased (1 month ago) Monrovia San Jose Juniper are rapidly becoming brownish? What could be the problem, over-watering, under-watering, could I have planted it too shallow (I was worried about planting too deep). Not enough sun (the area is near the house and gets sun in the morning)? And more importantly what can I do to save it. The right side of the pom-poms are the only ones doing ok. |
| Unfortunately based on your description I am unable to diagnose the problem specifically for you. Since there is a one-sided pattern to the browning I would tend to suspect there is possibly an environmental problem (eg accidental exposure to herbicide, automatic watering system spraying it with water that has gone through a water softener, something like that), but without seeing the plant it is very difficult to say. (It could also be a fungal problem, for example, or a root issue.) Since this is a brand new plant I would strongly suggest you contact your retailer to troubleshoot the problem, and/or possibly your county extension. I'm sorry I can't be more specific for you.
