I just read about the Phytophthora ramorum disease the Azusa nursery had a problem with last year. I would like to know if it is still a problem and if the Eleanor McCown Camellia I recently purchased could be infected with this pathogen.

It's unlikely that your new Camellia is infected with phytophthora. All plants at the nursery were isolated and tested before being released. Monrovia takes this very seriously and has testing procedures in place to avoid the spread of this disease. You rest assured that your Monrovia camellia is healthy.
