Answer: There are two schools of thought on this one. Some gardeners water first thing in the morning to help the plants prepare for a full day of growing. Others water in the early evening, after a full day of growing to help replenish the soil. Either way is fine, as long as you keep the water off the foliage if you water in the evening. Wet foliage can invite disease problems. I water my garden in the morning, which is most convenient to me, and it seems to work just fine.
