| Virginia creeper is relatively easy to propagate, even for beginners. Since this plant trails along the ground, it's possible that it has all ready rooted itself and all you'll need to do is separate a few of the rooted sections. Simply cut the stems on both sides of a rooted area and pot it up. It should grow new stems and leaves in a few weeks. If you can't find any rooted sections to dig up, you can take softwood cuttings. Just take a 3-4" long section of stem, remove the leaves from the lower in, dip the cutting in rooting hormone and place it in a container of moistened potting soil. The cuttings should root in a few weeks. Best wishes with your garden! |
