IS THERE A SPRAY TO PUT ON TREES TO KEEP SQUIRRELS OFF LIKE A SWEET GUM OR SOMETHING I HEARD OR USED YEARS AGO. THANK YOU

Not really. Sprays of hot pepper oil can deter them for a while but need to be reapplied as they break down in the outdoor environment. They may also be impractical to apply depending on the size of the tree and location of the damage. Another option is to place a piece of wire mesh (hardware cloth) around the area they like to chew on to block them out and discourage them from damaging your tree.
