Hi, late last summer I planted 4 Doublefile Viburnum plants. This spring after they started budding, we had a bit of frost which killed most of that growth, but they are growing from the bottom now. Is it okay to prune the part of the branches that have no growth on them? If so, when is the best time? Thank you very much.

You can safely remove the winter damaged parts of your Viburnums now. New growth will begin in a few weeks and your shrubs should fill out by the end of summer.

Best wishes with your garden!
