My tree did not have any leaves. Branches are not soft anymore. Trunk of the tree has a dent and bark is peeling. Top of the tree where branches shoot is also peeling off. What went wrong? How should I fix it?
Thanks,

None of these symptoms are a good sign. Unfortunately, based on your description, I think your tree may be dead or very close to it. With peeling bark, damaged trunk, dieback, and what sounds like a damaged graft, I do not think it can be saved. But since I have not seen the tree, I might be wrong. I would suggest you consult with your county extension and/or a professionally certified nurseryman to try to trouble shoot what may have happened. I'm sorry about your tree.
