The Q&A Archives: Red Leaf Banana Tree

I have done some research on the web and I believe it could possibly be cordana leaf spot. The only place I've been able to find information on diseases of banana trees was from Australian and other tropical climate countries, so their products aren't available to me here as they did not sell on their web site. Answer: Based on your description of the problem I am not certain what is affecting your plant. I would suggest you work with your county extension to obtain a specific diagnosis and based on that, recommended controls. Maryland offers a service where you can send a sample to the pathology lab for a small fee. Here is the page with the link to the application form, it also includes a phone number to call first for consultation before you send it in.

Once you have a definite identification of the problem, they can help you figure out what to do about it. Good luck with your banana!
