Red Leaf Banana Tree - Knowledgebase Question

I have a Ensete Ventricosum Maurelii banana tree. It is developing oval shaped holes and as the leaves die they develop a black streak down the center of the leaf stalk. I have done some research on the web and I believe it could possibly be cordana leaf spot. The only place I've been able to find information on diseases of banana trees was from Australian and other tropical climate countries, so their products aren't available to me here as they did not sell on their web site. Is there something in the states to treat this disease.

Based on your description of the problem I am not certain what is affecting your plant. I would suggest you work with your county extension to obtain a specific diagnosis and based on that, recommended controls. Maryland offers a service where you can send a sample to the pathology lab for a small fee.
