| I have a pocahontas lilac tree that I got summer. It's still in the pot. It started to bloom this fall and produced only one flower; after that stopped completely. I is still in the pot. Do I have to plant in the ground? How much space should I leave around it and what do I should do to take care of it and make it healthy? thanks Magda |
| Syringa hyacinthiflora (x) 'Pocahontas' is a lovely shrub with deep purple spring blossoms and foliage that turns reddish in the fall. If you plant only put out one flower, it may be struggling with overly crowded roots. I'd plant it in the garden, giving it full sunshine and rich, well draining soil. This plant will grow 10' tall and wide, so be sure to give it plenty of room to grow in your garden. Aside from watering it deeply once each week this summer, there's not much else you need to do. As soon as the roots become established it will produce new growth which should flower next spring for you. Enjoy! |
