Do I need to stake my young mimosa tree? It is about 5 to 6 ft tall with the big leaves coming out. Do they need to grow up straight at first or are they to drape from the beginning?

You won't need to stake your tree unless the trunk is tilting rather than growing upright. It's normal for young branches to droop downward under the weight of new leaves. As the branches thicken they'll become more rigid and will hold the foliage slightly more upright (although there will be a drooping umbrella effect). Enjoy your beautiful tree!
