The Q&A Archives: Pruning blue indigo

Question: I have a blue indigo that is about 3.5 feet tall and is falling over, do I need to prune it?

Answer: If the plant is flopping over, it's probably time to prune it back to encourage healthy new growth. You can safely remove about one-third of the shrub without sending it into shock. Now is a good time to do some pruning. Best wishes with your garden!
