Japanese Blueberry Tree - Knowledgebase Question

Would the berries on Eleocarpus decipiens (Japanese Blueberry Tree) cause a problem if the plant is used as a street tree, either as a slip hazard or staining the surface below?

The fruits of the tree look like black olives and hang in clusters. They're firm, though, so unless the dropped fruit is stepped on, it shouldn't stain the sidewalk.
