| I purchased your Texas Purple Japanese Wisteria and for my trellis, and they are doing great. All four of them, except for the cutter bees that destroy their leaves. How do I get rid of them? |
| Actually, there is no method to get rid of leafcutter bees, and no reason to do so. They are not harming the health of the plant, only the cosmetics. They cut away a semi-circle piece of leaf to make a nest to lay an egg. They do not eat the foliage, so do not ingest any insecticide, so there is no control. Most gardeners consider them to be beneficial because they are good pollinators. So, enjoy your wisteria and don't worry about the leafcutter bees! |
