The Q&A Archives: Care of columbine plants

Question: How do you care for the columbine plant after it has bloomed? When do you cut it back? and do you cut it back?

Answer: Cut the flowering stems down when the flowers fade, and the plant will bloom again. You can save seeds to sow, or let the seeds mature on the second flush of bloom and the seeds will scatter themselves in the garden.
