I just bought a place and infront there's
a small plot of 'dirt'. Anyway, upon closer
inspection I noticed that the soil is TEEMING
with wood lice! I've never seen so many in my life. How can I get rid of them?

Wood lice or pill bugs tend to congregate in damp places where there is decaying organic matter, so perhaps the area was once a pile of mulch and it has now composted somewhat. Although they look intimidating, these crustaceans are basically harmless. They do not usually hurt plants but will sometimes feed on roots if there is a shortage of organic matter. You shouldn't really need to do anything to get rid of them. If you are starting to garden they will likely dissipate somewhat naturally as you disturb and work the soil. Here is some additional information about them that you may find interesting. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser to make it work correctly.
