| I have a young dwarf orange tree that has spider mites on all of its leaves. It was doing fine outside during the NC summertime, but contracted the bugs during fall and winter, when I brought it inside. Should I go ahead and throw it out, or try to save it? |
| Spider mites can be a problem indoors and out when it's hot and dry. You may have accidently imported them when you brought your tree inside. Try to wash them off the plant (it make take several showers). Then take a damp papertowel and wipe each leaf and stem off. To keep them from coming back, add a little humidity to the tree by misting the leaves occasionally. Concentrate on the new growth and the undersides of the leaves, where the mites congregate. |
