I have been told that the mimosa tree is poisonous or rather the long pods that grow on it is. I would like to know if this is true. These trees grow pretty rampant. Please answer asap if possible.

I cannot find any supporting documentation that Albizia tree seed pods are poisonous. They are not considered edible, either, so don't consume them. The problems associated with seed pods is that they contain viable seeds which germinate readily. If not controlled, you could have an entire colony of mimosa trees where you once had only one!
