I bought 2 patio blueberry brushes last spring. They did fine all spring and summer but suddenly dropped all their leaves this fall. Is this just the ordinary plant cycle or has the now small twiggy plant already died?

Blueberries are deciduous, so dropping their leaves is a normal event. They'll produce new leaves early in the spring. Blueberries like a really acid soil, so make sure they have peat moss or ground bark mixed in with the soil!
