I planted 2 gardenia plants last fall. I started giving them muracid in April when I found out they needed more iron. They are doing well with green leaves and many blooms. But they flowers do not have much fragrance. What should I do? Are they lacking some other nutrient?

Angela,

I don't think it is a nutrient at all. I haven't heard of gardenias losing their fragrance. I think this is temporary and they will produce fragrant flowers again. Perhaps it is somewhat weather related, but again it should not last.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!

I have one too. It is extraordinary. Looks just like a gardenia bush, is covered in blooms, but NO fragrance. It must not be a gardenia!! a real mystery plant!
