The Q&A Archives: need more details

Question: We have moved to new home, and we would like to use seed for the lawn, bur recently we heard from a friend about grass seeds comes in sheet form with a fertilizer, but he doesn't know anyting about it,

I would love to get more details about it.

Answer: There are seed mats available but they're normally used for patching bare spots in established lawns. You could, however, use them to plant a new lawn. What's nice about this method is that you simply lay out the mats, anchor them down and keep them watered. The all-natural plant fibers will completely degrade over 90 to 180 days, depending on your climate, releasing Nitrogen to help plants get a healthy start.
