| I would expect a healthy mimosa to have leafed out by now. Sometimes, if for example there is extensive winter damage to the tree, the top portion dies back and then the roots send up new growth. This sounds like what is happening. The dead wood should be cut off, yes. The new shoots will grow quickly because they have an already established root system to draw on. |
