| Hi! A couple of years ago, I ran accross an 'agapantha type' bloom; one stalk, clumped green foliage at it's base, and a cluster of smaller, ruffled, trumpet like flowers. The flowers were distinctly a bright rose pink. I cannot find this plant anywhere. And no one seems to remember it. I've only seen it once in Chatsworth, CA at the Melodee Nursery. Can you help me find this plant? thank you! Sharon |
| There is a pink flowering agapanthus, but there is also Amaryllis belladonna, sometimes called Naked lady or Belladonna Lily. It's native to South Africa and has straplike leaves which form a fountainlike clump. This plant grows about 1' high and the flowering stalk rises above the foliage, topped by a cluster of 4-12 fragrant, trumpet-shaped, rosy pink flowers. It blooms in early summer, about the same time the agapanthus blooms. Perhaps this is the plant you're seeking. |
