We bought a new home in the fall. Is it possible to plant
any bulbs (daffodills, crocus, etc.) that might possibly
come up in early or late spring?

Congratulations on your new home! It's too late to plant spring blooming bulbs, but you can brighten the yard with some early flowering annuals and perennials. Try pansies and primroses to start with, and then plant columbine, coreopsis and coneflowers for summer blooms. Enjoy your new garden!
