Ironically, I have Japaneses beatles all our my Japanese maple. These beatles are also on other my other plants in my yard. I keep knocking them off, but they just keep coming back. What can I do to get rid of them? It is so hot and dry right now, I'm afraid to put anything on my plants. |
It is very challenging to control Japanese beetles! As you've seen, it seems that no matter what you do to control them, more beetles come along. Some people have luck repelling the beetles by using a neem-based spray according to directions. Handpicking is also effective but a bit time consuming; it works best in early morning or evening when the beetles are moving slowly. Keep plants healthy by watering them thoroughly if nature doesn't provide. Healthy plants will be better equipped to outgrow damage by the beetles. |
