Is it too late in the season to plant a mimosa tree? We live in NE Kansas and are into summer. Average temps are 90-100.

Because of the high temperatures, I'd wait until fall to plant trees and shrubs. Keep your new tree well watered while you're waiting for more favorable planting times. In the fall, when temperatures cool and rainfall abundant, you can plant your mimosa. It will establish its roots quickly before winter sets in.
