The Q&A Archives: when can I transplant

Question: I have a Goldfinger Potentilla growing in my yard for about 3 years and I would Like to move it to a different location, when is the best time to transplant it.

Answer: Transplanting is much easier on a plant if you do it during the spring or fall months when temperatures are cool and rainfall abundant. Moving a plant in mid-summer is extremely stressful. Mark your calendar for late September to help you remember to move your potentilla. Best wishes with your garden!
