The Q&A Archives: fastigiate oak

Question: Do you have a fastigiate oak that is very thin only 5' wide?
If so, please tell me cultivar so I can order it. Thanks!
I think it's called pencil or something like that.

Answer: Thank you for asking. Monrovia is a wholesale only nursery, so any purchases would be through a local retailer in your area that carries Monrovia plants. Although the Monrovia plant listing includes a columnar oak, Quercus robur 'Fastigiata'its mature width is in the 15 foot range. It also reaches about 50 fifty feet in height. So unfortunately this is not as narrow as you need. You might check with your local nurseries and see what they might have in stock that could fit into the space you have.
