What kind of conditions does a ruffled cherry laurel need? The ground in my shrub bed is staying a little too damp because of lack of sunlight. Do I need to move it to a sunnier location? Improve soil, etc?

Patricia,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. We are transitioning to a new Q&A system and your question was unfortunately lost in the transition. I have discovered it now and hope this reply is not too late to be of help.

Cherry laurel can take some soil moisture but does not like soggy conditions. It also needs sun to be its dense, attractive best. If a location is marginally wet you can build up a large raised plating area to help keep the base of the plant in better drainage conditions.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
