We recently planted Orange Meadowbrite Echinacea in our perennial garden. All other perennials are fine, but something has eaten every single leaf off of the Echinacea. Now all we have are stems with flowers on top. What type of animal likes these so we can spray the plant?

This is an interesting question. I have not heard of any animal or insect eating this plant above others. It is possible that some type of caterpillar or a snail for instance came with the plant and has eaten it, however without seeing the culprit it is really impossible to tell you what to spray to prevent it -- and both of those could simply be handpicked off. If you feel it was an animal, there are may spray on deterrents available at garden centers. If it was an insect of some kind you would need to know specifically what it is and then based on that, select an appropriate control. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. Perhaps your local county extension or the retailer will be aware of other reports of the same thing happening and will know what it is by now. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
