What does the 70- 80 days mean on a sticker that comes on a vegetable plant...does it mean from the time it is planted from seed or the time from flowering to ripe?

The 70-80 days mentioned on the tag means days to maturity from seed germination to harvest time. While you can't really gauge how old the plant is when you get it, you can guesstimate the harvest time to be about two months after you plant it in your garden.
