I bought and planted what I thought was a Japanese Blueberry - I thought it was a shrub. It has similar leaves but no fruit or flowers - and it's getting rather large though I have tried to keep it trimmed back - any ideas what could be similar looking but smaller (hopefully)?

Carol,

Gee I'm not sure what you might have planted. The native red bay looks a bit like Japanese blueberry but not a lot. I suggest you take a sample of leaves to your County Extension Office out at Bear Creek on the west side of Houston. They could probably identify the plant with a sample in hand.
