We have 4 dipladenias that we have planted in the ground. We were wondering what the care for them would be during the fall and winter months. We are wanting them to climb over a bench that they were planted around so pruning would not be done. In order for them to survive the cold months should we cover them with straw or a certain type of mulch?

Unfortunately these are tropical plants and must be brought indoors in the fall well before frost or they will die. They are typically grown as container plants to make this process easier. I'm sorry this is not what you were expecting.
