We live in zone 9 and just constructed a trellis in an attempt to cover an unsitely water treatment system in our backyard. This area gets sun all day. We would like to plant fast growing climbers that will cover the lattice and not die back in the winter...we do get a few frosts where we are. The trellis is two sides...it is made of two lattices that form a 90 degree angle joined by one post. What do you suggest? thanks.

Jennifer,

You have a number of options including:
Asian Star Jasmine (Trachelospermum asiaticum)
Confederate Jasmine or Star Jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides)
Carolina Jessamine (Gelsemium sempervirens)
Swamp Jessamine (Gelsemium rankinii)
Evergreen Wisteria (Millettia reticulata)

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
