| In my experience with spreading liriope it is better to remove it sooner than later when it has intermingled with the other perennials it is difficult to remove without uprooting the entire bed. It is fine to leave it in a bed with shrubs but it can overwhelm the other perennials in about two years when it has become firmly established and really begins to spread. I think in the long run you will be glad you did. Either type of liriope will need to be cut back in the spring to remove winter damage, when you do this be careful not to damage the new growth beginning to emerge at ground level. |
