This plant needs full sun all day long or for a minimum of six hours including the hour of noon, it is a tropical plant and loves heat. It should have soil that is evenly moist but never saturated or sopping wet during the growing season, then somewhat less water in the winter when it is resting. Use your finger to dig into the soil and see if you need to water. When you water, water thoroughly and then let it dry a bit before watering again. Yellowing and dropping foliage can be a sign of overwatering, too little sunlight, or underwatering if it is also wilting, or it could be a sign of shock if it has recently been moved. You may also want to check with your retailer to see if they can help you troubleshoot.
