We're looking for a camellia for our richmond district san franciso garden (near the ocean, lots of summer fog) The location in the garden has almost full sun. We plan to keep the shrub small by pruning. We want an orangy red with small single flowers if possible. Color is the most important consideration.

almost full sun

I found two camellias that might interest you: Adolphe Audusson has orange-red semi-double flowers with distinctive stamens, and Red Dandy with brilliant orange-red semi-double flowers, and a compact, upright and vigorous growth habit. Hope one of these is just right for your landscape.
