What is a good time to plant roses? They're always planted in my garden, and sometimes they look great, but other times they don't grow very well. Oh, and by the way, I live in Dallas, TX. |
Baneen, The best time to plant a rose is in the fall (October and November), next is January and February. Bare root plants are only available in the late winter while container grown plants are available year round. Container plants can be planted any month of the year although the time from late spring through late summer is very stressful and makes it more difficult to plant successfully. Bare root plants are less expensive but are often more difficult to keep alive during the critical first growing season. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
