roses - Knowledgebase Question

I havean aphrodite rose of sharon, bloomed beautifully this year until japanes beetles came in about 3 weeks ago, have sprayed it for beetles about 1 a week, have pleny of buds left on plant, but they are not blossoming out, what can I do to get it to blossom out. Thanks

Lucille,

Just keep the soil adequately moist and give it some time. The beetle attack likely removed quite a bit of foliage and this means the tree's ability to produce energy is limited. It will first try to reestablish good foliage cover and in time should bloom again.
