I live between zones 5/6 in Sharon, CT. I would like to describe how I prepared my bulbs for forcing and then would like you to see if I did anything wrong or left anything out. I placed a layer of stones in bottom of clay pot. Added purchased fertilized potting soil mix. Added bulbs. More soil. Firmed soil. Watered well until the water came out the bottom of pot then let it drain off well. Placed clay pots in 5 gallon buckets with lids (to keep out furry creatures) and placed buckets in my uninsulated garden shed. How did I do?

You did GREAT! The only thing I would suggest is that perhaps you remove the lids from those plastic pots. If the plants can't breathe, they'll rot! If you want to offer protection from critters, try screening.
