I purchased two Weeping Norway Spruces which are staked. I have removed the stakes. I have some older specimens which I seem to remember as being much more bent over. Do I need to remove the leaders to encourage the weeping posture and keep them low?

Thanks

I think a better approach is to restake your plants, bending them down to an acceptable level. Do this now while they are still immature and the bark is pliable enough to be molded into the form you desire. Once the bark thickens and hardens, the plants will retain the shape and you can permanently remove the stakes.
