Purple Fountain Grass - Knowledgebase Question

I have purple fountain grass in my front lawn surrounding a gas lantern- I would like to trim - But I am unsure how to go about that?? any ideas??

Earline,

That grass is usually trimmed in late winter prior to the onset of new growth. If it is really bad looking you can trim now or do some light trimming now. Otherwise in early February cut the thing back to about 8 inches high and it will be back filling in with lots of fresh attractive foliage.
