The Q&A Archives: Tansy

Question: What is "tansy"? I have heard planting it next to your house will control ants.

Answer: Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) is technically an herb though it is not safe for consumption. It is very effective at repelling insects, they tend not to like its pungent aroma. The dried flowers are also commonly used in flower arrangements. Tansy is available from Burpee at 1-800-888-1447.
