There is no particular pruning style for that plant, so you can trim to suit your preferences and needs, or prune very little if any at all. Japanese blueberry comes in the standard large type and in a dwarf type called Little Emperor. The dwarf type can be sheared periodically from spring through summer to encourage a dense shrub-like form. The large type can be left unpruned or you could trim up the bottom to create a tree form. The best time to do any major pruning of branches is in late winter (Jan-Feb).
