I have a low area that is near my carport that doesn't drain well. After large amounts of rain, water five or six inches deep stands in between my house and parking spot. I am trying to avoid running pipe 150' to the street. Do you have any suggestions. |
Mark, Your two basic options are to either install french drains beneath the surface to carry the soil moisture off to a lower area or to put some type of sump pump in the area attached to a pipe to carry the water off to another area (could be uphill since the pump is involved). Other than moving the water out you might consider turning the area into a bog garden using plants that tolerate or even thrive in such conditions. Thanks for the question.
