Most trees and shrubs will become quickly established if they are planted in the spring or the fall when temperatures are cool and rainfall abundant. If you have a new tree, why not wait until this fall to plant it. It will suffer less transplant shock and will be able to establish its root system before weather gets cold. By next spring it will be ready to perform well. Best wishes with your new mimosa!
