| My endless summer hydrangea label says it will bloom all season long. My flowers came out deep blue and stayed that way for close to a month now they have turned whiteish-green. Does that mean they need to be deadheaded or do I leave them on and they will recover their color? If they need deadheaded where do I cut at? |
| The color of Hydrangea Endless Summer is soil dependent. If you want blue flowers; add a couple of handfuls of aluminum sulphate at planting. If you want pink flowers; use lime. You will probably have to refresh the treatment with a single handful of the desired product each summer to keep the soil conditioned. You can leave the flowers on the plant until they begin to fade and turn brown, or you can cut them off the plant now. When you deadhead, cut some of the stem along with the flower. Cut it back all the way to the main stem. Enjoy your hydrangea! |
