The Q&A Archives: Angel Earrings

Question: We have an Angel Earring hanging plant that doesn't look like it is going to make it. It was a gift from Arkansas. It is watered when we water the ferns, we have withheld water, we have used miracle grow. It has lived in the sun and now it lives under the house eaves. We have had it two months and it continues to go downhill. It is almost dead. How do these plants live? We are at a loss.

Answer: Angel's Earring is a trailing fuchsia which grows best in full shade, in rich, moist soil. Pinch back the stem tips to encourage bushiness, keep the soil moist but not soggy wet, and keep it out of direct sunshine. Hope your plant perks up soon!
